Motto 2024: "Truth brings peace"
Since 2007, in the third week of September, at the same time as the UNESCO cultural heritage days, the Ars Sacra festival and the Open Church Days have been organized. The initiative started in Budapest and has become an international festival that promotes true cultural and sacred values: the need for beauty, goodness and truth.
The purpose of the festival is to bring to light the Judeo-Christian roots of European culture, the sacredness of culture, in all branches of art, promoting the ascension and spiritual unity of souls.
Six historic parishes joined the spirit of this festival and organized the first edition in Sibiu in 2023.
This year, between September 14 and 22, 2024, the sacred art will be presented to the public from the banks of the Cibin.
Sibiu City Hall co-finances the events in Sibiu starting from 2024.
