About

Between March 6–8, 2026, we invite you to the “Fair of the Holy Martyrs”, in the courtyard of the National Museum of the Romanian Peasant, in Bucharest, Str. Monetăriei no. 3. Admission is free.

We welcome the Christian holiday of the 40 Holy Martyrs of Sevastia, also known among the people as Sâmbra Plugului, with Moldovan martyrs prepared on site, drizzled with honey and generously dusted with walnut kernels.

For March 8 – Women’s Day, you can choose, for your loved ones, very special gifts from folk craftsmen and artisans who come with their ii from all over the country, icons, Horezu ceramics, woven carpets, folk masks, wooden household items, paintings, graphic works, wood sculptures, unique silver jewelry, genuine leather bags, fur clothes, handmade cosmetics, martisors and decorations made of felted wool or cryogenic flowers for the Easter holidays, sacred art, rose water, embroidered or hand-knitted clothing, crocheted wool toys, candles made of organic oils and stained glass.

Traditional gastronomy is present at the event through various products, for all tastes: naturally smoked meat dishes, fresh and matured artisanal cheeses, Bucovina cozonaci, homemade chocolate and cakes, honey and immunity products, sea buckthorn and aronia juices, pălinca, zacuscă, “poale-n brâu”, kürtős kalács, baklava, fruits and vegetables from local producers.

Those who appreciate old objects with historical value can find wooden tools, peasant furniture or folk costumes from different folklore regions at the participating antique dealers.

Hot dishes will be prepared for those who wish: meat or mushroom sarmale, smoked soup in a cauldron, stuffed peppers for fasting, sheep pastrami, fresh pork sausages and grilled chicken skewers. The menu cannot be missing the Wallachian martyrs, with walnuts, lemon and cinnamon.

The egg painting workshop will be held by craftswoman Ileana Hotopilă from Bucovina, who received the title of Living Human Treasure in 2022 for her entire activity.
