This day was chosen as "National Culture Day" because it represents the birth date of the national poet of the Romanians, Mihai Eminescu (1850 - 1889)

🔛National Culture Day is celebrated with us through a series of special events⤵️
🆕️Altițe. Inspiration and aspiration / Metamorphoses of a renewed exhibition
ℹ️ The ASTRA Museum, a point of inspiration and aspiration for communities creating contemporary heritage, is exhibiting for the first time a suit and a standard shirt from its heritage in dialogue with 122 shirts sewn between 2018 and 2024, based on the designs in the albums made by the prominent personalities of the early 20th century – Elisa Brătianu (1943) and Elena C. Cornescu (1906).
At the beginning of the year, we are renewing the exhibition and bringing to the public’s attention 30 shirts that were exhibited at the Museum of the Romanian Peasant in Bucharest and come to complete and complete the inspirational ensemble in the two albums.
📍 Location: ASTRA Museum, Dumbrava Sibiului Open-Air Museum, Multicultural Museum Pavilion (hall 1 and media library)
🆕️Between January 15 and 17, ASTRA Museum invites you to experience traditional dances from Romania, Norway, Slovenia, Greece and Hungary during the dance workshops organized in the exhibition “Dance – European Intangible Heritage in Motion”. On the occasion of National Culture Day, January 15, access to the dance workshop is free. Visitors, students and teachers, will get acquainted with the traditional Romanian dance - the twirling.
⌚️The workshops take place between 10:00 and 15:00, within the exhibition organized in the ASTRA Multicultural Pavilion, Exhibition Hall S2, Gate 1 of the ASTRA Museum.
🏛 Also, at the House of Arts, the Center for Regional Activities and Resources, we will present the exhibition “Creating Transylvania. People and Crafts”, with free access on National Culture Day.
